Frequently asked questions
What happens when my free year ends?
You'll be notified before your free year expires. After that, you can upgrade to Pro or stay on the Free plan. You never lose your notes.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. If you switch from monthly to annual, a new 12-month subscription starts immediately. If you switch from annual to monthly, your annual plan continues until its renewal date, then switches to monthly.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay through Stripe.
What currency will I be billed in?
We support USD, EUR, GBP, and CHF. Your currency is detected automatically based on your location - GBP in the UK, CHF in Switzerland, EUR across Europe, and USD everywhere else. The price is the same in every currency (6/month or 60/year) with no conversion fees or markups.
Is there a team or business plan?
Not yet, but it's on our roadmap. For now, Pro works great for individuals and small teams using shared notebooks.
Can free users collaborate on notes?
Collaboration is a Pro feature. Free users can still join a share created by a Pro user as a guest (no account upgrade required), and they keep full read + edit access. To start your own shared notes, you'll need Pro.
What happens to my shared notes if I downgrade from Pro?
Nothing breaks. Your existing shared notes keep working for you and your guests. You won't be able to start new shares until you re-upgrade, but no one loses access to what you've already shared.
Does offline sync work on the free plan?
You can read your cached notes offline on any plan. Creating and editing notes while offline — with changes that sync back when you reconnect — is a Pro feature.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If you're not satisfied within the first 30 days of a paid subscription, contact us for a full refund, no questions asked.
Do founding members keep their discount after 500 users?
Absolutely. Your 20% lifetime discount is locked in forever, regardless of how many users join after you.
Do founding members need a credit card to start?
No. Your free year starts immediately with no payment information required. We'll only ask for payment details when the year ends and you choose to continue with Pro.
Can I export my data if I leave?
Always. You can export all your notes as Markdown or HTML at any time from Settings. We believe your data belongs to you.
